SOMALI GIRLS FACE CHALLENGES DURING EDUCATION. As most of us are aware, we know that there are challenges facing us as a nation forever! It is better to give something to a person than to teach it, there is a culture that is important, it is important to be aware that our nation should be educated and advised, and there is a way to turn around this problem is the idea that girls should not be taught education at home. stay!! Every Somali father and mother who believes in this idea should be made aware, education is the key, hearing, awareness, nationalism. We are aware of the importance of INAN’s education today, and let the people who are aware of it reach it. I have quoted some of you in this article, and I have also quoted some foreigners to read with me the challenges faced by Somali girls in education. Cultural barriers: In some Somali communities, it is widely believed that girls should prioritize housework and early marriage over education. This can lead to girls being taken out of school at an early age to help with household chores or to be married off. Financial constraints: Many Somali families struggle to afford the costs of education, including school fees, uniforms, and transportation. This can make it difficult for families to send their daughters to school, especially if they have many children. Lack of quality education: Many schools in Somaliland do not have enough resources, such as quality teachers, textbooks, and a safe learning environment. This can make it difficult for girls to get a quality education that prepares them for further education or work. Safety concerns: Somali girls may face safety concerns on their way to and from school, including harassment, assault, and kidnapping. This can stop girls from going to school or force them to stop altogether. Despite these challenges, many Somali girls yearn for education. They realize that education is essential for their personal development, economic empowerment, and future success. Education can help Somali girls: To acquire knowledge and skills: Education gives girls the knowledge and skills they need to make decisions about their lives, participate in their communities, and contribute to the development of their country. Improving their economic prospects: Education can help girls find better-paying jobs and achieve financial independence. Delaying marriage and childbearing: Education can help girls delay marriage and childbearing, which can improve their health and well-being and enable them to focus on educational and career goals. Break the cycle of poverty: Education can help girls break the cycle of poverty by giving them the tools they need to improve their lives and the lives of their families. In recent years, there has been growing recognition of the importance of education for Somali girls. International organizations, such as UNICEF and UNESCO, have launched programs to improve the education of Somali girls. There have also been efforts by government agencies in areas where Somalis live and by non-government organizations to improve girls’ access to quality education. Despite these efforts, there is still a lot of work to be done to ensure that all Somali girls have access to education. By addressing the challenges Somali girls face in education, we can help create a brighter future for all Somali children. PREPARED BY: MOHAMMED SHARIF DAHIR
